Jonas Anderson is a proud son of Cave City, Arkansas and the surrounding area. After graduating from Cave City High School, he and a group of close friends spent several years playing music and touring the country. Meanwhile, he earned an A.A.S. degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Arkansas Community College in Batesville, a B.A. degree in Liberal Arts, focused on history, management, and political science, from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and an M.A. degree in American History from American Public University in West Virginia.
Since 2008, he has held various roles in information technology support and management, beginning at the Batesville campus where he got his college start and culminating in his current role as Chief Technology Officer at the Bank of Cave City. Since 2010, he's also worked to give back to his beloved hometown by serving in local elected office, first as a City Council member and currently as Mayor. Be it from his office at City Hall, or just across Main Street at the bank, Jonas works to bring tangible progress and opportunity to his place and to those who call it home.
His public service work extends beyond Cave City, too. He joined the Arkansas Municipal League’s Executive Committee in 2018, and was elected to serve as the organization’s president in 2023; the first league officer from Sharp County in the organization’s history. In 2024 he joined the National League of Cities' Information Technology and Communications Committee, as well as a newly-formed Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee.
Professional endeavors aside, Jonas is most at home in the role of husband to his incredibly supportive wife, Jessica, and dad to their three sons. That's what gets him up every morning, and drives him forward each and every day.
