Jonas Anderson is a proud son of Cave City, Arkansas and the surrounding area, where his family ties began just after the Civil War. After graduating high school, he and a group of close friends spent several years playing music and touring the country. Meanwhile, he earned an A.A.S. degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Arkansas Community College in Batesville, a B.A. degree in Liberal Arts, focused on history, management, and political science, from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and an M.A. degree in American History from American Public University in West Virginia, where his capstone project presented the untold story of a late-19th century businessman and land agent who made a lasting impact on regional development in Northeast Arkansas.

That diverse mix of interests has led to a near two-decade career blending technology, community development, and public service. He has held various roles in educational technology support and management, culminating in his current position as the Chief Technology Officer for the Bank of Cave City. He's simultaneously chosen to give back to his beloved hometown by serving in local elected office since 2010, first as a City Council member and currently as Mayor. Be it from his office at City Hall, or just across Main Street at the bank, Jonas works to bring tangible progress and opportunity to his place and to those who call it home.

His work extends beyond Cave City, as well, through his involvement in the Arkansas Municipal League, where he has served as a member of the Executive Committee since 2018, and currently serves as league president. In 2024 he began serving on the National League of Cities' Information Technology and Communications Committee, as well as a newly-formed Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee, collaborating with peers from across the United States and lending his perspective to NLC's efforts at shaping national policy on those topics.

Professional endeavors aside, Jonas is most at home in the role of husband to his incredibly supportive wife, Jessica, and dad to their three sons. That's what gets him up every morning, and drives him forward each and every day.
